A campaign to highlight the impact of domestic abuse on children has been launched by Strathclyde Police in the run up to Christmas. The ‘Speak out for you, for them’ campaign targets victims of domestic abuse, as well as their family and friends. In December 2010 the total number of domestic abuse incidents involving children was 1609, an increase of 21.2% on the previous year. Although domestic abuse happens all year round, the number of incidents reported during the festive period always increases.
