Pupils at Doon Academy are to serve their own young apprenticeship in entrepreneurial skills, as they prepare to venture into the world of business. As part of East Ayrshire Council’s ambitious £1 million Business Enterprise Fund programme in schools, students are to open their own shop in Dalmellington. ‘The Miner’s Lamp’ will sell products made by pupils and local artists.
